I think that the feeling of connecting with other people the internet gives us may be inhibiting us from actually connecting on a real level. The feeling of connecting on the internet is a temporary relief of feeling alone which leads us to constantly run back to it for that instant comfort to insure that we are indeed not alone. Not to say, “screw the internet, it is ruining our lives”, because it is great and a tool for many things, but just to say that anything in excess can be negative. This is all based off my personal experiences and ideologies about life and balance so form your own opinion too, or let this spark a new idea, because I am just one person with my own ideas but I feel conversations are so important for growing and learning instead of the one sided conversations the internet often gives us

American medicine is the best in the world when it comes to providing high-tech care. If you have an esoteric disease, you want to be in the United States. God forbid you have Ebola, our academic medical centers are second to none. But if you have run-of-the-mill chronic diseases like congestive heart failure or diabetes, the system is not designed to find you the best possible care. And that’s what has to change.
